I, Daniel Blake wins Palme d’Or at Cannes, with music by George Fenton

Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake was the recipient of the Palme D’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, featuring original music by George Fenton. The film documents what happens when an older man living in Newcastle has a heart attack and can no longer do his job; it has received praise from The Guardian, Variety and Indiewire.
Xavier Dolan’s film It’s Only the End of the World, with a score by Gabriel Yared, won the Grand Prix at Cannes.
