There is no genre boundaries. Daniel Hoffknecht who has his roots in rock and jazz music, studied music majoring in guitar in Berlin and Dresden, where he came into contact with different musical styles. In recent years he came more and more in touch with the German film scene. Daniel Hoffknecht's music varies, ranging from fragile – sounding music, which can include not only live instrumentation and electronica to big-‐sounding, but clever arranged orchestral scores to the scores in between. The composer attaches great importance to collaborate with different musicians in order to give his compositions the desired emotional depth. ”For me the challenge in composing filmscores is to find an own voice for each film, which narrates a story the pictures alone can not tell.” Daniel Hoffknecht lives and works in Berlin.
