War Child Australia - 'Forever Young' Compilation
26th October 2026
War Child Australia will release Forever Young, a compilation of unreleased tracks, rare covers and original recordings from Australian artists, on Friday, November 20. It is the first Australian artist initiative for War Child’s global cause, with all artists donating their music to support children living through conflict.
Among the covers, Grace Cummings takes on “Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree”, while Missy Higgins tackles The Church’s “Under the Milky Way”.
The lineup also includes Paul Kelly, Sarah Blasko with a new song, “Dance On Fire”, and Ruel with an acoustic version of Crosby, Stills & Nash’s “Helplessly Hoping”. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Augie March / Glenn Richards, Loose Content, Any Young Mechanic, Milly Strange, Dappled Cities, William Crighton and The Nagging Doubts also contribute.
Purchases directly fund War Child’s work. A $60 vinyl could help reunite a child with their family, and a $30 CD could provide education kits, including solar lamps, for two children. A $50 T-shirt could fund a teacher’s trauma-support kit, and a $100 vinyl and T-shirt bundle covers both.
“It is really easy to get incredibly dismayed by war and violence, and cynical about the possibility for change, but hopefully projects like this help us to change our thinking a bit,” said Toby Martin of Youth Group.
