JAH LOON

Jimmy Hua, better known by his producer handle “jah Loon”, is an ARIA-nominated music producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & audio engineer based in Melbourne, Australia.

Brought up in a music-loving household, he was always within earshot of his parents’ hifi or portable radio filling the room with everything from Traditional Vietnamese Folk to Boney M and Canto-pop to Cher. 

Having a grandfather who worked as a tattooist and luthier crafting Chinese & Vietnamese instruments and a father who played in Chinese music ensembles, it was only fitting he carried on the artistic spirit of his bloodline- manifesting in an undying love for music.

In his teens he began self-learning guitar and music production.He’d eventually go on to work with some of the nation’s brightest talents including Tkay Maidza and Genesis Owusu.

JAMES MANGOHIG

Born to a Filipino father and Dutch mother, and raised in Darwin, James Mangohig is an ARIA nominated producer from Darwin. Starting as a bass player for bands, he went on to become a music producer. In the mid 2000s he formed Sietta with vocalist and songwriter Caiti Baker, releasing 2 albums and 2 EPs to critical acclaim. 

Mangohig has worked with artists such as Daniel Johns (Silverchair), Jessica Mauboy, Gurrumul, Drapht, Briggs, 360, B2M, KLP, Manuel Dhurrkay, and Sunameke (Tep Tok). In 2016 James joined Perambulator Management as a Director and Producer. His affinity with diverse forms (culturally and stylistically) is driven by his own Filipino heritage. In 2018 James was awarded the Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship. James produced the soundtracks for Tracks’ In Your Blood, En Masse, and Global Positioning.

Kojo “Kay” Ansah aka Citizen Kay

Born in Ghana, raised in Canberra, Australia, Kojo is an ARIA nominated artist (Citizen Kay), and audio engineer. Beginning his professional music career in 2014, he had been recording, producing and mixing his own songs which quickly turned into doing the same for other artists and creatives. In 2018, Kay established his own business as a freelance mix engineer & producer.

Blending his irreverent Alt/Hip-Hop influences with New Wave influences of the 80s, The Magpie Swoop sees Brendon Boney stepping away from the acoustic folk world and sharing something that feels original and uniquely himself.

As part of the act Microwave Jenny, Brendon Boney’s music has been played on community radio nationwide as well as triple j, double j, unearthed & fbi radio while performing across Australia, NZ, Asia, the UK at festivals such as Bluesfest (Byron Bay), Woodford Folk Festival (Woodford), Friendship Festival (Seoul). Brendon’s work has featured in television series Gods of Wheat Street (ABC1), Redfern Now (SBS), Offspring (Network 10), Winners & Losers (Seven Network), Underbelly Chopper (The Nine Network) and the film version of the landmark musical Bran New Dae.

He’s also composed for Bangarra Dance Theatre, Belvoir Theatre, Ensemble Theatre and Ilbijerri Theatre touring with acclaimed comedy production Black Ties as Music Director on top of also making his acting debut.

PAPERTOY

Originally from Armidale, NSW and now based in Sydney, Papertoy works with a wide array of Australian and international artists and music industry leaders from all different backgrounds providing music production, mixing and mastering. 

Passionate about playing a part in the development and evolution of hip hop in Australia, Papertoy has been working behind the scenes for years and is currently working with some of Australia’s most talented rappers, singers and producers.

Papertoy production credits run deep winning the Danny Brown “Grown Up” remix competition, runner up in Hermitude’s “Speak of the Devil” and Stwo’s “Eden” remix competitions, previous EP with Cleveland rapper Atari Jones and producing for a number of Australian and UK rappers. Having already had a production placement on Sydney hip hop group The Thundamentals album (Noodle Soup), there is much more in store for this producer.
