With her self-developed genre KlaKaSon – a piano-cabaret chanson – she made a name for herself in the German cultural and satire scene, appearing in radio and TV formats for many years. Known for her dark sense of humor and unique style, she performed over 500 concerts, won the Young Songwriter’s Award from the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung, and was nominated for the Music Authors’ Award by GEMA. She has released three albums and published books and texts with renowned publishers such as Knaur, Eulenspiegel, and Reclam.
Since 2025, she has focused exclusively on her work as a composer for orchestral, theater, and film music. She has collaborated with the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Münchner Symphoniker, and the MDR Sinfonieorchester, and has taken on composition and musical direction at prestigious German theaters.
Henkel often draws inspiration for her compositions from nature, particularly from her experiences with surfing and ice bathing. The dynamic energy of the sea and the stillness of the ice flow into her music, shaping her distinctive sound. She has a unique ability to capture and convey moods musically – her works always tell a story.
