Good bye Areski !

A composer, multi-instrumentalist, poet, brilliant arranger and actor, Areski Belkacem has spanned the decades with the discretion of a master craftsman and the boldness of a pioneer. Defying categorisation, his music serves as a bridge between cultures and genres. From traditional North African percussion to theatrical experiments, from minimalist arrangements to oblique pop songs, Areski has created an imaginary folklore that is both deeply rooted and resolutely modern.

While his name is inextricably linked with that of Brigitte Fontaine, together they have given French chanson its most liberated, avant-garde and subversive chapters. We are proud to have accompanied him throughout all these years and to continue promoting part of his repertoire in the future! Our thoughts are with Brigitte, her son Ali and all her loved ones.
