Philip Glass Remixes by Kummerspeck
21st august 2017
Philip Glass is widely regarded as one of the most influential composers of his generation, having a repertoire spanning film, TV, theatre, opera, dance, orchestras and solo works. He has amassed over 100 soundtrack credits to his name, including “The Hours”, “Notes On A Scandal”, “The Truman Show” and “Fantastic Four”. His work has netted him a BAFTA and a Golden Globe, along with three Academy Award nominations.
Glass has now had some of his most renowned compositions remixed by Kummerspeck on his latest release “Cinematix”. Taking inspiration from his realisation that much of today’s film, TV and advertising music has been inspired by Glass’ works, Kummerspeck came up with the idea to play Glass’ original sheet music with electronic instruments, thereby giving his works a fresh, cinematic sound while staying true to the original works. The result is a collection of riveting, epic tracks that are genuine rather than derivative and perfect for trailers & promos.
