Portman's 'Dolomites, pale mountains' premiere performance and recording

On August 27 in the beautiful setting of the Sudtirol Festival Merano Dolomites, pale mountains by Rachel Portman will be premiered by LGT Young Soloists conducted by Alexander Gilman. This new work was especially commissioned by the Festival and is inspired by photographs of this most majestic Italian mountain range by Georg Tappeiner. Dolomites, pale mountains is in four movements: MarmoladaVajolet TowersRosengarten and Salonch. The performance will be accompanied by Tappeiner’s stunning photographs.

On August 22, Sony Classical will release the premiere recording of Dolomites, pale mountains. The release will be accompanied by special videos created by Tappeiner and his team.
