Jan Andrees

Biography

Jan Andrees composes, arranges and produces in every musical discipline and all genres of music.

During his schooldays, Jan Andrees held various positions in the prestigious Theodor-Fliedner Gymnasium big band in Dusseldorf-Kaiserswerth. He performed as a vocal solo singer, guitarist and as an arranger for the big band. At the same time, he achieved success with his youth band playing sold-out concerts across North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond. Inspired by the success of his band Jan decided to turn his hobby into a professional career and study music after finishing high-school (Abitur).

Jan took his professional musical education seriously and studied in three different cities: Cologne, Bonn and Arnhem. During his studies he worked as a music teacher in his former high school. However, applying his versatile talent, he found his love particularly for movie scores. Consequently Jan earned his stripes as an emergent composer working for popular movie and TV-productions. As a co-author Jan’s compositions were used in productions of German and Austrian TV stations, including ZDF, ORF and WDR. As a consequence Jan was nominated for the European Young Talent Award in 2011.

After the nomination Jan was offered numerous contracts for TV and movie productions. Moreover, the young composer accepted multiple commissioned works for different types of ensembles and symphonic orchestras. At the same time Jan led various ensembles and choirs across Germany.

Late in 2015 Bosworth Music took notice of the aspiring composer and offered Jan the opportunity to collaborate with them, which should soon come to fruition.
