The New York Times Interviews Ludovico Einaudi
9th January 2017
Between playing an “Elegy for the Arctic” with Greenpeace and being the world’s most streamed classical artist, Ludovico Einaudi is changing the commercial field for contemporary classical artists. His latest release Elements became the first classical album in over two decades to break the Top 15 on the UK charts. When touring internationally this 2016, youthful crowds filled sold out venues and the live instrumentation ranged from steel drums to a water phone.
In his recent interview with The New York Times, Einaudi reflects on the viral video that left viewers lost for words, his creative process for composing and his eclectic musical influence that covers everything from African to rock.
