Wise Music Group goes Reeperbahn Festival 2024
10th September 2024
From September 18 to 21, 2024, the international music world will turn its attention to Hamburg (Germany) as the Reeperbahn Festival approaches. As the largest music club festival in Europe, it serves as a key meeting point for the music industry.
This year, we're particularly looking forward to performances by our Wise Music acts PRISMA, Sofi Paez, and Kiasmos, along with a panel discussion on sync licensing led by one of our experts, Lena Obara. Here's what to expect:
PRISMA | Thursday, 19.09., 16:30-17:00h @ MOPO-Bus (Festival Village) + Thursday, 19.09., 22:50-23:50h @ St. Pauli Church
The duo PRISMA, composed of sisters Frida and Sirid Møl Kristensen, draws inspiration from childhood memories to create dream pop with influences of darkwave and indietronica. Since their first EP "Her" (2020), they have continually refined their sound, as reflected in their debut album, "Something To Respond To (2024).
"Sync Departments: Myth and Reality" – featuring Lena Obara | Friday, 21.09., 11:45-12:45h @ east Mandarin
Sync departments play a crucial role in connecting licensees and music supervisors. This panel will explore how sync departments in music publishing help facilitate the creative process and bridge the gap between music and visual media. Don’t miss it!
Sofi Paez | Saturday, 21.09., 21:10-22:10h @ Resonanzraum
Sofi Paez, a pianist and singer-songwriter born in San José, Costa Rica, blends her voice and piano with modern electronic sound design to create deeply emotional, reflective songs. Her debut album, "Silent Stories" (2024), showcases her virtuosity and sensitivity within the realm of modern classical music.
Kiasmos | Saturday, 21.09., 23:30-00:55h @ Docks
Ten years after Kiasmos (Ólafur Arnalds + Janus Rasmussen) released their acclaimed debut, they returned with their new album "II" in July. Their latest release combines melodic micro house with ambient, downtempo, and neoclassical elements, creating a unique soundscape where Faeroese and Icelandic influences converge into a new sonic universe.
