Biography

Em George is a singer-songwriter based in Sydney. Her introspective and lyrical songwriting style is interweaved with folk and pop based melodies drawing on influences such as Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake.
Her releases have all gained traction and critical acclaim for the artist. Her debut EP released in 2017 has been streamed over 350,000 times on Spotify reaching viral status and heavy radio rotation in the Netherlands, the UK and United States as well as Triple J Unearthed and FBi Radio.
Her first single, "Murderers On The Inside" was discovered online by Stephen Kozmeniuk, an LA based producer who has worked extensively with Madonna and Kayne West. Stephen was so impressed with its lyrical strength and sound, he produced a remix, submitting the song for use in film and television where it was optioned by HBO, Twentieth Century Fox and the BBC. It currently holds agency representation in Los Angeles and New York.
Em was featured in The Music Network alongside artists such as C.W Stoneking, after her third single "Paper Hearts", spent two weeks in the AMRAP Metro and Regional charts reaching number three. It was featured on Triple J Unearthed, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Mood Media and was SYN Radio’s track of the week alongside Aerial Love by Daniel Johns (Silverchair). It was also released to radio in the United States, achieving airplay in New York, California and Texas.
Her single, "Truth", received airplay on radio across the country such as FBi, Inner FM (Melbourne) and reached gold rotation on digital station, Traxx. It was also featured on Mood Media. The track was featured on several blogs such as Mistree Magazine (U.K) and the United States, drawing comparisons to Regina Spektor and Beth Orton.
In 2017, Em was a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for her song Blues Lady.
Em has toured nationally playing at venues such as The Vanguard, Venue 505, Oxford Art Factory and Old Bar in Fitzroy, Melbourne.
Her follow up EP titled Wolves was recorded at Heliport Studios on the Sunshine Coast with Eliot Heinrich. It features five original songs, and the EP marks a new and exciting sound for the artist which builds on her signature introspective, brooding style.
