Biographie
Jean-Louis Murat started his solo career in 1981 but he started to raise success in 1988 with his third album released on Virgin Records. Mylène Farmer invited him for a duet in 1991 which put an even stronger spotlight on him.
Living in the region where he was born, in the heart of the Auvergne volcanos, his music and lyrics are very driven by nature and poetry. Neil Young and John Lee Hooker are among his main influences. He released almost an album a year throughout his career, ranging from acoustic folk to electric blues rock, with a few collaborations including Calexico, Elysian Fields, Carla Bruni, Camille…
He also wrote songs for Françoise Hardy, Indochine, Isabelle Boulay, Nolwenn Leroy… and appeared on screen in several arthouse movies while scoring the soundtracks.
